Now, when it comes to the best Looney Tunes characters, opinions may vary. But let’s face it, Bugs Bunny is always at the top of everyone’s list. That carrot-chomping trickster has been entertaining us since way back in 1940. Talk about staying power! A version of Bugs debuted in 1938, but his official unveiling is considered during Tex Avery’s animated short “A Wild Hare” in 1940.
Mel Blanc voiced Bugs for more than 50 years! His iconic catch phrase “Eh….What’s up doc?” is known worldwide. Bugs ranks 9th on the Guinness Book of Records Most Portrayed Characters in Film category (Santa Clause tops this list).

2. Daffy Duck – 1937 – The perpetually frustrated fowl who always seems to find himself in absurd situations. Daffy has graced our screens since 1937, proving that being a little “ducky” can go a long way. Daffy makes this episode one of the best of all time! “Let’s run through that again.”
3. Yosemite Sam – 1945 – The fiery-tempered cowboy with an itchy trigger finger and an even itchier mustache! Yosemite Sam has popped his lid countless times, bringing his explosive antics along for the ride.
4. Porky Pig – 1935 – That stuttering swine with a heart of gold. Despite his speech impediment, Porky has managed to appear in quite a few episodes, making us laugh with his endearing personality.
5. Elmer Fudd – 1940 – No matter if it is Rabbit Season or Duck Season, Elmer is on the hunt. Always willing to engage with the audience. “Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet, I’m hunting wabbits.”
6. Sylvester the Cat – 1945 – Always after his nemesis Tweety Bird, poor Sylvester has been hit by more umbrellas than raindrops.
7. Wile E. Coyote – 1949 – With an appetite for Roadrunners, Wile E. Coyote has taught the world about the marvels of Engineering, Science and Anvils.
8. Foghorn Leghorn – 1946 – This southern gentleman was always out for some antics while also trying to teach a lesson to his sidekick. “I say…” and “That’s a joke, son!” were some of his trademark phrases.
9. Tasmanian Devil – 1954 – Taz is himself a cultural icon. The energetic devil always brings his whirlwind style and an appetite to the party.
10. Tweety Bird – 1942 – The tiny yellow canary who always manages to outsmart Sylvester the cat. Tweety may be small, but this feathery troublemaker has made quite the appearance count throughout the years.

Baby Face Finster – How can you not respect a 35-year-old bank robber who disguises himself as a baby. I only recall one episode with him, but it is banger.
Blacque Jacque Shellacque – Similar in temperament to Yosemite Sam but with a French-Canadian accent. This gold fevered villain does not take kindly to Bug’s “What’s up Jacque.”
The Roadrunner – Wile E. Coyote’s nemesis is a quick study. He doesn’t have much to say, as he doesn’t have the time to stop and chat “Beep beep!”
Rocky and Mugsy – This duo is right out of the Gangster Era of U.S. History. Rocky is the leader and has 95% of the brains of the pair. His eyes are always covered by his hat and he is constantly smoking. Mugsy serves as his quasi-capable henchman.
